F—Find lost people
Luke 19:10 (NASB) “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
John 2:41 (NASB) "Andrew found first his own brother, Simon..."
John 2:45 (NASB) "Philip found Nathanael..."
Luke 15:6 (NASB) "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost."
The gospel story is about God through Jesus Christ seeking and finding lost people. God did not wait for lost people to come to Him. God takes the initiative to seek out lost people even when they aren't interested in being found.
The three parables in Luke 15 reinforce this important theme. A shepherd seeks for a lost sheep. A woman seeks for a lost coin. A father seeks for a lost son. Jesus told a parable about a merchant seeking a pearl of great price.
A church's evangelism strategy must include a process for discovering unchurched prospects. Church leaders and members need to make finding lost people an essential element of their personal witnessing.
